School
So I just finished my first “week” at my new teacher job at a Jersey City middle school (it was 3 half-days). I’ve put myself through quite the emotional rollercoaster: one anxious night of sleep; reflective meaning of life questions on the Hudson; and endless over-planning. But after class today, I felt so positively happy, I couldn’t believe it.
Some of my students have already expressed the fact that they both a) have fun in my class and b) are trying hard to follow the rules for me. This is overall much more fulfilling for me personally.
Web development question
I’m trying to get Newscorp to support this project I want to work on for the paper, but they suck ass so I have to do all this legwork myself. I gots me some questions for you web savvy types.
I'm behind a desk!
I’m taking phone calls, messages, scheduling appointments for some accountant. An accountant!
What I think about while waiting for code to compile.
Why does “old man” mean your father, but “old lady” mean your wife?
New Job
I’m sitting at my desk in my office on day 2 of work at GameServers.com. I share the office, but it’s an office anyway!
The digs are cool. I have a corner desk and a dry erase board. The machine is a brand new Dell. I took it out of its gigantic box myself. Here are the specs:
Last Day On The Job
I’m leaving the Asbury Park Press today. I’ve been web programming for 1.1 years there. I learned about interdepartmental relationships, but not much more about programming. It’s time to move on (and closer to home).
More importantly we’re heading out to Pete & Elda’s in Neptune City. Here I will embark on a pizza adventure. I plan on leaving my final impression at the Press as a saucy, cheesy legend!!! Check it out
Corporate Bingo
My first 3.0 post. How exciting!
I have this fun idea for those boring work meetings that most of us have to attend. But we all need to come together to help bring the creation to fruition.
The game is played just like normal Bingo. The board consists of a free space and 24 randomly-selected common corporate words/phrases that you hear in a usual meeting. First person to get the decided Bingo (5-in-a-row, corners, X, etc.)
