Fine then
I’m using their free internet because the maid is cleaning the room and everyone else is either being lazy or shopping at the local dirt merchants. Also I was up drinking all night.
Funny thing about Bavaria, thats where the couple met. The wife is from here, so might as well have a wedding here. Its a nice place, all they eat is pork, cucumbers and feta, and drink beer and rakia, which is kind of gross unless its with a salad. Wierd.
And they have a funny alphabet.
Wedding is tomorrow, maybe I’ll make it back on here, maybe not.
Italy Log, Day 1
We’re in Italy! We have internet! So eat it, Kev! I’m still boss around here. Read more for thoughts and stuff about Italy if that seems interesting to you. Forgive type-os and bad grammar. I’m exhausted and its been a confusing day in terms of language.
Hutch Asks for Music Part II: Waltzes
I need Waltzes. Something you wouldn’t find silly being played at a wedding. Suggestions?
congratulations, alix!

Pre-Cana tomorrow
Tomorrow Gos and I are spending almost the entire day doing a Pre-Cana program at her parents’ church so we can get married there. We have to take a scan-tron compatibility test and be educated in how to properly raise a family the Catholic way.
I can’t remember the last time I dreaded something more than this. I’m so glad I have nintendo on my iPhone now.
Japanese Steel
Alton Brown recommended years ago that the knives from Japanese company Global are by far the best knives we can get for our money. In the knife section his gear book, he goes into great detail about what makes a good knife a good knife and was rather convincing about Global. Now Salon has an article on the rise in popularity of Japanese knives with western chefs and a bit into what makes the knives so great.
And wouldn’t you know, last night, instead of watching the Stupor Bowl, Gosia and I took advantage of the empty stores and got started on our Wedding Registry. I was incredibly disappointed to find that Macy’s did not, in fact, carry Global knives. But after reading this Salon article, I was recommitted to finding some and not settling with Wusthoff, only to find Bed Bath and Beyond carries them! Looks like we’ll be registering there as well.
