Stevia Finally Gets FDA Approval

Stevia is a naturally occurring sweetener that was originally banned by the FDA in 1991 amid controversy that they did so under corporate pressure. Stevia, being a naturally occurring plant, wasn’t patentable, so a lot of companies were against it.

Well, it seems the FDA has wisened up and are going to allow its production. And while I still have an almost crippling distrust of any sort of processed or manufactured food product, overall this seems a very good thing as it means less aspartame and sucralose usage, both of which should be completely off the market due to their adverse health effects.

Wisdom

What can I say? Things can’t possibly be my favorite when the soul is sucked out of them by marketing tools and I hear the hook in an endless loop on my television.

About The Scrabbled

The Scrabbled is a group of people blogging about and linking to all manner of things. Usually we argue and make fun of each other. Everybody knows everybody through somebody so there are no strangers here. Most of us have even met in real life! If you happen to personally know someone here and would like to start arguing with and/or making fun of someone, shoot John an email and ask to sign up. Otherwise, you're just going to have to read in relative silence. Sorry.
