The greatest robot ever built.
It walks around, finds a stationary object, plays a little beat on it, than moves on. I want to be it’s friend.
School
So I just finished my first “week” at my new teacher job at a Jersey City middle school (it was 3 half-days). I’ve put myself through quite the emotional rollercoaster: one anxious night of sleep; reflective meaning of life questions on the Hudson; and endless over-planning. But after class today, I felt so positively happy, I couldn’t believe it.
Some of my students have already expressed the fact that they both a) have fun in my class and b) are trying hard to follow the rules for me. This is overall much more fulfilling for me personally.
Aliens!
A former NASA astronaut, one of the privileged few to have “allegedly” walked on the moon, outs the government on UFO cover-ups.
On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness
The dude’s behind Penny Arcade made a video game and released it for damn near everything. You can get it on xbox live or download it online for $20 and it looks really fun. 1920’s love-craftian horror meets killer robots meets sex and fart jokes in a turn-based RPG.
Really, there’s no way it can be anything but good.
Big Dog & Big Dog Beta
Boston Dynamics released this video of an eerily-realistic walking robot. It balances, tests terrain and recovers from sudden changes. I actually felt a little sympathy during the kicking part. It was strange.
