Paris Returns
Okay, I am back but have yet to develop (yes develop) any film, or have the desire to type too much. I will present you with a quick list of my highlights for now.
I also request an update of what I’ve missed. I don’t care whether it’s Scrabbled-related, world-related, or music-related news. As long as those three are covered.
Paris' Car Jukebox
So I’ve been on spring break since last Wednesday. I’ve been busy with Seton Hall work, rest, reading, and the outdoors. I haven’t been online too often.
I still can’t believe that Twitter post is alive. I’m probably going to miss my Lost responsibility tonight too.
Anyway, I just stopped in Jersey City to pay rent and I made a fresh set of CDs for my car. I thought it’d be a nice thing to share, seeing as I haven’t posted anything of interest in a while.
I Am Building A 6-Foot Diameter Sphere
Maybe I can get into the details of what my school is like some other time, but regardless, there is a Curriculum Fair coming up in May. At this fair, the entire student body’s (Pre-K to 8) work will be displayed. I’m in charge of the math area, and I have decided to display the work on gigantic three-dimensional objects (cube, pyramid, sphere for now). The solids with actual vertices will be easy but…
A Different Kind Of Concert
I have two tickets for a show in New York City for tonight. It is part of the Wordless Music Series and is located at the New York Society For Ethical Culture.
The line-up is:
The Mountain Goats
John Vanderslice
Miranda Cuckson, violin
Reiko Uchida, piano
(The latter pair performing music for piano and violin by Franz Schubert and Francis Poulenc apparently)
Music Emergency
I’m not sure who here is aware, but my sister, Natalie, is pregnant. She is having a girl but has not released the name of the child, though we all know it starts with the letter ‘M’.
So the due date is March 20th, which apparently, is the 10-month mark of the pregnancy. So in actuality, ‘M’ can enter this world any day now.
I just received a text message from Natalie about some cramps and pre-labor contractions.
I have to throw together Baby’s First Mix CD as soon as possible now! Any suggestions? I’ll write “from theScrabbled” on it. I was aiming for some soft, pretty music and maybe something with an educational edge. Who knows? What have you got?
2008 Album Selections
with album art! Because I don’t want to write so much about them! I downloaded about 40 albums for 2008, and not much had a lasting hold for me. It’s getting harder to be impressed with new music; I almost didn’t care enough to try.
Attention All Hands: Paris is an Adult!
Happy Birthday, you youngest of the old. The big 2-5, everybody. Remember when you were that young? Probably not, because you’re old.
Paris is exactly one quarter of a century old today. Spread the word.

The Competition to End All Competitions
Paris and I are competing in The Rails Rumble this weekend — a programming competition that involves building a web application from start to finished in 48 hours. We will be fueled by Jolt Cola and shitty pizza and we aim to sleep (and bathe) as little as humanly possible. Why? What possible reward could be worth losing an entire weekend cooped up in front of a computer?
School
So I just finished my first “week” at my new teacher job at a Jersey City middle school (it was 3 half-days). I’ve put myself through quite the emotional rollercoaster: one anxious night of sleep; reflective meaning of life questions on the Hudson; and endless over-planning. But after class today, I felt so positively happy, I couldn’t believe it.
Some of my students have already expressed the fact that they both a) have fun in my class and b) are trying hard to follow the rules for me. This is overall much more fulfilling for me personally.

Metuchen Garage Sale
This Saturday, April 12th, the donut-hole of Edison is having their biannual town-wide garage sale. If you’re in the mood let me know. We can walk around together, get lunch downtown, and you could always park on my street (and I’ll drive into Metuchen).
Poultrygeist: Night Of The Chicken Dead
According to Wikipedia, this movie released to limited audiences at the end of Summer ‘07, but I saw no Internet trailer until now. Did anyone catch this flick? Now, I find a different story at "the movie’s homepage":http://www.poultrygeistmovie.com/.
I’m not a gigantic fan of the “gore-ror” genre, but this looks over-the-top entertaining. The trailer has some punny lines and a scene when a zombie cracks open a skull and scrambled eggs come out.
I was laughing/dry-heaving throughout. Ask Sammy about the last time that happened. It involved Dead Alive and General Tso’s Chicken.
Lost!
…yeah, I got nothing. I miss Paris. Someone come up with some insane theories based on tonight’s episodes. Rachel?
