NES or SNES
I have a problem, probably one of the best problems I’ve ever experienced, but a problem none-the-less.
I have the opportunity to receive an NES or SNES for free. The problem is that I can only pick one.
Now, I owned both as a child. I recall liking the SNES a bit more, but that might just be the fact that I can remember that better.
I think my decision might also be based upon the games that are available to take. I don’t know what they are exactly. But I’d love to hear some conditional statements about which one to pick.
Super Mario Galaxy 2
I went into Gamestop at the mall today. I wanted to find out when this game comes out. Turns out, it already did.
Nintendo has not failed me, yet again. Same colorful, musical 3-D planetary adventure as its predecessor. Except now, there’s fucking Yoshi. Not only is it just fun to see the dino-pal back in the franchise, but with it comes new gameplay such as grappling, pulling, eating, and (I’m assuming soon) shooting.
There are some new Mario suits as well, that I have yet to experience. And the navigation from galaxy to galaxy is less annoying. Think SMB3 World Maps now.
I’d say the only lame thing is the poor classic story line. Bowser destroys party. Princess gets kidnapped. Star-people need stars. Mario saves everyone.
Super Mario Crossover.
Play Super Mario Bros. as several different Nintendo heros. Cooler than it sounds.
The Beatles in 8-bit.
I don’t mean to beat a dead horse, but you folks seem to enjoy these things and this is a REALLY good one. Even if you don’t like the beatles.
Mario Bros. 2 Screaming
Shouting while playing Mario Bros. 2. I don’t usually like this type of video, but this was funny.
Scribblenauts
So Sammy has made me aware of a new Nintendo DS game that seems awesome enough to warrant me buying the system solely to play it. I’m shocked it isn’t being discussed around here.
The Power Glove. It's so bad.
The dude is annoying, but I never owned a power glove and always wondered how it worked. Now I know: horribly.
MC "Random" uses Mega Man for beats.
And unlike a lot of chip music which is just fun for the novelty, this dude is actually really good!
This Is Wiidiculous
Every time I open my wallet, I see my GameStop gift cards. I want to spend them SO badly, but I’ve been patient. I realized though, what is Nintendo waiting for? I could really use a new game. Animal Crossing has been great – as a goddamn coaster. Anyone hear/read anything?
My New Favorite Christmas Album
As I’ve made many of you painfully aware, I have a thing for 8-bit video games. Especially the music. So when I found out about 8-bit Jesus, a project by some dude who guys by the name Doc Octoroc, I flipped out. It’s a comp of classic Christmas carols and hymns done in the style of classic Nintendo tunes. That isn’t to say it’s just done with an 8-bit chip or that the themes are mixed. That would be lame! No, this is way cooler.
