The Weakerthans Concert
The Weakerthans are playing a show at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City this Friday, Sept. 18, 2009.
Some of you already know that I purchased 4 tickets to this event months ago. In fact, some of you already have dibs on these tickets.

A 700+ piece Tim Burton exhibit will be at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City from November 2009 to April 2010.

A Different Kind Of Concert
I have two tickets for a show in New York City for tonight. It is part of the Wordless Music Series and is located at the New York Society For Ethical Culture.
The line-up is:
The Mountain Goats
John Vanderslice
Miranda Cuckson, violin
Reiko Uchida, piano
(The latter pair performing music for piano and violin by Franz Schubert and Francis Poulenc apparently)
New York City Bike Tour
Tomorrow I’m taking the entire day to cycle through the city (mainly below 34 St.) and tour some stores I’ve heard about. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a shopping spree exactly, just a nice way to tour the city with landmarks.
I plan on posting about my discoveries/opinions later on.
List of stores after the jump…
The Elephant Six Holiday Surprise
Christina is coming up to visit me and we’re going to this extravaganza. There is a movie premiere and orchestral performances as well as songs bu many bands of the collective that I’ve listened to, heard of, and been meaning to get.
i.e. Oliver Tremor Control, Elf Power, The Gerbils
It should be a fun time and I want theScrabbled community to get your collective conscience on and hope for a Neutral Milk Hotel appearance.
A Night At The Opera
I have a housemate up in this Jersey City ex-rectory named Brendan. He’s in the second year of the Seton Hall program I’m in. He is from Indiana originally and he loves doing things; he has a knack for finding free/cheap activities in New York City.
Last night, we went to the opera! Lincoln Center was enough of a treat to see, but my first opera was fantastic too.
New York City: The Playlist
My major hobby since moving to Jersey City is cycling. I take at least 2 small weekday trips and one major weekend one each week. I usually end up on the Hudson waterfront, and I almost always stop to take in the view.
I only wear headphones/iPod occasionally. But I was thinking tonight about what would be good New-York-City-view-while-cycling music.
Any thoughts?
