Beard-A-Thon

So every year I grow a playoff beard for the Flyers playoff run. For the past two years I’ve been doing it for charity.

The Stock Market

I have a ING checking account that started with a 4.00+% APY and has dropped to sub-1.50%. I am beginning the process of investing/trading because I want to make more money with my money. I just signed up for Etrade but have not transferred any money just yet.

What would you do with $46 million.

A friend of mine’s teacher from high school just one that amount in the lottery. Assuming it were possible to take that entire sum up front, if you had that winning ticket, what would you do?

Cheapskate Strategies?

In an effort to pay off my credit card, I’m making a conscious effort to save more money by:

  • only dining out once a week (this includes fast food)
  • not buying any new clothing for 6 months
  • taking the T to after-work functions (instead of going home and driving to it), even if it takes twice as long to get home via the commuter rail.

What are everyone else’s cheapskate strategies?

I got\am being identity thefted.

I was checking up on my bank statement and I notice a few charges from the 12th of this moment from some credit expert company. I give them a call and it turns out 8 different people (or 1 person using 8 names) opened/tried to open accounts on consumerinfo.com and creditexpert.com with my credit card number, effectively trying to get my credit history.

I was charged a total of $75, which I am being refunded. But now I’m freaking out. Why was someone checking my credit history? What other info could they have gotten with just my card number? Fuckfuckfuckfuck.

About The Scrabbled

The Scrabbled is a group of people blogging about and linking to all manner of things. Usually we argue and make fun of each other. Everybody knows everybody through somebody so there are no strangers here. Most of us have even met in real life! If you happen to personally know someone here and would like to start arguing with and/or making fun of someone, shoot John an email and ask to sign up. Otherwise, you're just going to have to read in relative silence. Sorry.
