iTunes 10 out today.

Sporting the new Music social network. I think Apple’s more than a bit late to the game, but it should be interesting to see how it plays out.

Lala is shutting down, having been bought by Apple, a week before Apple's WWDC.

Will we see a new subscription or streaming iTunes service?

So far iTunes 9 has been announced and it looks to make iPhone users’ lives much easier.

theScrabbled rates an album

On facebook a couple of us were discussing the use of and how we rate songs using iTunes 1-5 star scale.

I thought it would be neat if we found one album most of us have and post our track by track rating.

So what album do most of us own? How do we figure that out? Should it be an old album or something really new?

I Heart iTunes Genius

Has anyone been using this new feature in iTunes very much? While some of the song selections are certainly questionable and despite the occasional annoyance of it not knowing a song, I’ve heard so much music from my own library that I’ve never listened to that I’m really enjoying. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the collected data of the next few months/years alters the song selection.

WOW. Just… fucking… WOW. I had no idea these dudes released a new album this year and it’s out-fucking-standing. Not 15 seconds into it and my brain is melting leaking out my fucking tear ducts. I quite honestly believe these dudes might be the best metal band making music right now.

I bought it on iTunes, though, so I can’t upload for you dudes. But I highly recommend going and finding a copy. It’s only $6 on iTunes (plus, of course, for higher bitrate and no DRM).

Anybody know a way?

to make it so you can burn protected Itunes videos onto a DVD and watch it on a DvD player?

How Would You Do It?

A download of the “top 100 classical pieces” has finally finished. It’s not an official collection (seeing as I can’t find it on Amazon, Wikipedia, etc.) Here’s the tracklist (NSFW warning: there may be some underwear-clad women at that link).

The thing is, all the information is in the filename. I want to organize this in some way. Is it important to you to have the opera that a certain piece is from? If so, where in the iTunes file information should it go? Some of the selections aren’t from operas, though.
