Reggie Goes Green

I’ve always been interested in how much electricity I’ve been using, and where I’ve been wasting it. Yes, I can look at my electricity bill every month, but I wanted more. So, I bought the Kill A Watt (get it?!)

Basically, you plug this device into a standard 3 prong socket, and plug in other devices into that. It shows you current voltage draw, amperage, but best of all, kilowatts! There’s also a timer, as well as a kw/H meter so you can see EXACTLY how much juice you’re using for any period of time.

It just came in today, and with a few hours of use under my belt, here’s what I found.

Congestion Tax

So despite the fact that most of you guys live nowhere near NYC, I thought I’d ask your outside opinion on something.

What do you think about a congestion tax in a city, or what’s also known as congestion pricing?

details after the jump.

You're a moron if you're celebrating St. Patrick's Day today

By Reggie Burgers 9 months ago

because, well, it was SATURDAY!

It became a feast day in the Roman Catholic Church due to the influence of the Waterford-born Franciscan scholar Luke Wadding2 in the early part of the 17th century, and is a holy day of obligation for Roman Catholics in Ireland. The date of the feast is occasionally moved by church authorities when March 17 falls during Holy Week; this happened in 1940 when Saint Patrick’s Day was observed on April 3 in order to avoid it coinciding with Palm Sunday, and happened again in 2008, having been observed on 15 March. March 17 will not fall during Holy Week again until 2160.

Renewable Energy

I forgot to post about this but this one is for all you hippies out there. The US federal government has approved a renewable energy source that makes energy from the waves of the ocean.
