I’m not really into metal, but I listen to Howard Stern and they’ve been talking about this band a lot what with their association with Richard Christy. Any opinions from you legitimate metal heads?

I had a funny thought on the way home from work today: the drum beat from The Decemberists’ “The Sporting Life” (and, perhaps more famously, Iggy Pop’s “Lust for Life”) is the happiest drum beat I can think of.
Seriously. It’s impossible for me to think of a happier drum beat at the moment of writing this. It made me wonder if this particular beat had a name, you know? Oh, yeah, that’s the old Chedderworth Shuffle. Something like that…
But now I put it to you: what beats do you associate with a single emotion? Or, perhaps more appropriately, what drum beats force you into a specific mood?
