OK, so me and a couple of guys at work were trying to think up new kinds of rooms that we should have in an ideal office…

I just heard about this tonight. It’s a nearly-finished “mall” in North Jersey (near the Meadowlands). I use the term “mall” loosely because it sounds ridiculous.

It’s supposed to have been done in 2007. But now, as soon as late 2008. It will be the third largest shopping mall in the world.

Some features:

a boutique hotel designed by winka dubbeldam is in the works for 13th street which will be unlike anything else architecturally in philadelphia. thats all well and good, but more importantly, joël (fucking!) robuchon will be opening his third us restaurant in the space. as far as philly dining goes, this will be huge. i’m crossing my fingers this actually happens, even if i don’t really plan on being near philly when this project would be finished. picture to follow…….
