The phils won the world series and had their parade, now it’s time for free agency. Who do you think they should retain, release and go after?

Cause I’m told I should be in the city when the Phillies win the world series. And that may very well happen tonight, what with Hamels pitching and the big bats waking up. It all sounds very exciting. But I’m also not particularly fond of large, stupid, drunken crowds. The whole human-zoo factor makes my skin crawl. But then again, the electricity and excitement of a large mass of people all pumped for the same reason can be unparalleled. But then AGAIN, I have a lot of freelance work to get done and the three hours before the game at home would help. But then AGAINNNNN, will I regret having missed such an event to work?
Ugh.
Decisions. Help me.
So where’s everyone watching it? Should we be prepared to storm the streets of Philly if they win? Are people calling out of work the next day for the parade?
...of the 2008 New York Mets season. Meaning that the Milwaukee Brewers will come to face the Phils. Predictions?
you guys picked a PERFECT time to crap-out on your services. right in the middle of both the Phils and Mets games. i wonder how many angry phone calls from the area you’ll be receiving…
the season starts in 4 days – i’m guessing most of you don’t give a shit, but i figure i’d do a last call anyway.

According to ESPN.com the Phils traded for Joe Blanton (5-12 4.96 ERA)
Does this fix the starting rotation? Predictions for any other trades?
The Flyers’ elimination made it 100 consecutive seasons without a title for Philadelphia’s four major teams. That’s far and away the record for a four-sport town—a gold standard for civic sports futility.

Well, today was his last chance to get his shit together before the season started. Let’s see how it went…

It’s that time of year when people who work with other people spend money to put names on lines, in other words: The NCAA Tournament.
‘Round my way, it’s $10 to get in. There’s just one small problem for me…
I propose that a bunch of us go to a Phillies game together sometime this season (the earlier the better). Most of us like baseball, and most of us like pulled pork sandwiches, and most of us like beer. It’s a win-win situation!
Maybe if we can get enough people, we can get “The Scrabbled” up on the scoreboard!
A while ago I did a post about theScrabbled “Rankings” just listed everyone in order by number of posts and number of comments.
While none of you on here like basketball (John will throw in some comment about how terrible basketball is and how great he is all the time), you may have heard that Shaq is coming to the Suns.
I watched the first 10 minutes of the first episode of American Gladiators, and decided that I had enough.
Then on Monday night, I witnessed this.
I’m looking for a text format file of team rosters for NCAA Football 08 for PS2. I been searching and searching and all I can find are downloadable transfer files for 360s and PS3s and memory cards for sale with the rosters. Both are options I can’t do.
An American won the Mavericks surf contest in California on Saturday. The prize was $75,000. They don’t hold the contest every year. There’s about a four month period every year when the contest might be held. It all depends on if the conditions are right. Only a certain group of surfers are allowed to participate, and they have to show up in about 24 hours once they receive the call.

In other news, I am going to the NHL All Star game. Has anyone ever been to anything like that?
I’m just wondering what music you guys use to pump you up when you do sports. By sports I don’t mean softball. I don’t really ever see anybody pumped to play softball. It’s usually like a pickup game or drunks. Can I get a comprehensive list of track title and artists of what gets you pumped?
Anyone have any thoughts or rampant speculation (for the next hour anyways) on the mitchell steroids report? So far we’ve got Roger Clemens, Andy Petitte, Miguel Tejada, Brian Roberts and Chuck Knoblauch reported.
