I included some of the general ones mentioned about the n00b.
Hey I got bored and organized the stats in A SECOND hard to read long post!
Where do you rank?

I haven’t done this in a while and there seems to be some interest, so read on for various analytics and factoids about site traffic for February.
Most of the bugs are worked out, search is back, and I hope to have RSS and notifications back this weekend.
So what does everyone think so far? Any particular hang ups? Annoyances? Anything you wish it did that it currently doesn’t do? What do you like and would like to see more of?
Now hosted on Media Temple! Note that all the posts and comments are back in the system and it’s running quite nicely. I can now start back on the list of small bugs and such that’ve piled up since the launch.
With a slew of new features at only 1/32nd the speed! Yeah, she’s slow. She’s really slow. But I’m hoping to fix that in the coming weeks. I hadn’t counted on the sheer volume of data being imported slowing it down quite this much. Anyhow, read on for a list of changes and other assorted bits of newness that you might find useful.
But before you do anything else, all of your passwords need to be reset. Just log in, click “forgot my password” and go through the motions of resetting your password in or to log in.
Help me test what will be the new underbelly for thescrabbled. Head to rails.thescrabbled.com and play around. If you made a user before, it should still be in there. If you haven’t, register to create one. This site represents the final functionality of the site as it will go live. No user photos or email notification yet, but both things should follow shortly. I just want to get everyone up and running on the new system first to get the bugs out.
Anthony is a friend of Matt’s, another west coast transplant. I have let him join the site and, as such, it is your duty to shame and denigrate him. Anthony, introduce yourself so we can tell you how much we hate you.
Design aside, it’s time for you guys to really start picking apart the new scrabbled codebase. A slew of changes are up with a bunch of added security. So head over and mess around and tell me what you like and what you don’t like and maybe try to break a few things.
Lots of updates to the dev site if anyone is interested in checking it out.
Cause there doesn’t seem to be anything else to talk about today. For those of you who don’t now, for the past week or so I’ve finally begun seriously reprogramming the scrabbled in Ruby on Rails, a language that will allow me to quickly and easily add features and functions to the site as time goes on. The completely redeveloped scrab is now registering users, logging in users, users can post and comment, posts can be set as private unless logged in, and posts are being tagged successfully. My guess is that using tags instead of categories should lead to much better content organization, not to mention the ability to include subtle jokes in our posts. Hopefully many of you will be willing to go back and retag some of your old posts.
I’ve been beta-testing it, sort of, with Paris and Sammy and they seem to like how it functions so far. No time at all has been spent on styles, though, so it’s just text running down a page. Perhaps a site-wide ugly beta this weekend?
In the meantime, I don’t have too many ideas for a design, other than a general layout for the post listings, but if you folks can find some good images of triceratops, that’d rule.
He knows Christina. He apparently reads the site regularly and likes Radiohead. So I’m sure you guys already have plenty to make fun of him about. Though if you want to find out more about him (and then make fun of his answers), you should ask them in the comments here.
Heidi is a friend of mine and Justin’s. Me and Justin’s? Justin’s and mine? Of ours. We met at work. She is funnier than most of you.
TheScrabbled blows up. The very potential for his presence makes it happen. What a guy.
I started some preliminary work on the new scrabbled today. I’m looking for any idea you folks might have to improve the site; things you’ve seen on other sites that you’d like to see here, ways to get people to post more interesting things, ways to drive conversation, new features, new info on the users, SEARCH, whatever. Whatever you guys think. I’m gonna try to have an ugly beta (get it? like ugly betty? but… you know… nerdy! ha!) up sometime this weekend.
Dreamhost hates the scrabbled, apparently. Doesn’t mind any other site I host. Just the scrabbled.
Two years ago today, we had published out first post. I had hoped to have Scrabbled 3.0 ready for today, but it’s not quite there.
I just got word that the Dismemberment Plan will be playing a reunion show in DC on sat April 28. tickets go on sale at 5 pm tonight.
The recent posts and quotes sidebar is at the very bottom of the page. I’m using explorer.
Dreamhost’s mySQL database is apparently on the fritz. We may go down some more today.
We’re coming up on the year and a half mark, I’m wrapping up a few projects, and I’m gearing up for some massive recoding and additions to the site.
So, obviously a search engine is first on the agenda (which is a part of a whole restructuring of the way the database retrieval and formatting system). But I’m curious to know what you guys think of the site as a whole. What bugs you? What would you maybe like to see more of? Any other sites doing shit you like that you wish this site could do? Anything you can think of. I’m in the brainstorming phase at the moment so any and all suggestions welcome.
