If you haven’t, you need to get it in the mail this week to be sure it’ll reach the office by the deadline. Luckily, the state makes it pretty goddam easy to register. Just head to the NJ voter reg page and print out the form for your county. The form itself folds up and becomes a free, stampless envelope you can put right in the mail. So you have no excuse. Do it!

My major hobby since moving to Jersey City is cycling. I take at least 2 small weekday trips and one major weekend one each week. I usually end up on the Hudson waterfront, and I almost always stop to take in the view.

I only wear headphones/iPod occasionally. But I was thinking tonight about what would be good New-York-City-view-while-cycling music.

Any thoughts?

Anyone ever buy a house with a friend (or know someone who did)? I don’t mean a significant other or spouse, I’m talking you and a buddy both signing on the dotted line.

How did it work out? Is it working out? What problems came up?

Weren’t all the bees supposed to be disappearing and crap? I haven’t heard any updates in a while. Are we still doomed?

Has anyone been using this new feature in iTunes very much? While some of the song selections are certainly questionable and despite the occasional annoyance of it not knowing a song, I’ve heard so much music from my own library that I’ve never listened to that I’m really enjoying. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the collected data of the next few months/years alters the song selection.

So, I’ve finally gotten my hands on a Wii after stalking Best Buy’s doors at a completely unreasonable hour on a Sunday morning with a ripping hangover.

This being said, I’ve not had a video game console since Sega Genesis, and I’m TOTALLY out of the loop as far as games go. I’ve got Mario Kart, and I ordered Super Mario Galaxy, but I want to know what else to get.

I’m generally not a fan of shoot em’ up type games (E.G. GTA, No More Heros)ESPECIALLY those with first person vantage points. I actually threw up after watching some friends play Bond on Playstation.

So, Scrabblers, give me your suggestions and let me know what I should check out.

Anyone get it yet?

Bill & I are going to Charleston, WV next weekend to watch some of the qualifying rounds in this year’s World’s Strongest Man competition. (We’ll only be there on the 6th & 7th.)

I expect this to be hilarious and awesome. When Bill was younger, he was really into WSM and kept a website about it (caution: link to 1997). He went to a few WSM events in the US, and there are some funny pictures of him as a teenager hanging out with dudes seven times his size.

Following that, we’re leaving on the 13th to spend a week in northern Europe. We’re headed to Hamburg, Copenhagen, and Malmo. Three countries in nine days, eek. Hopefully some of the friendly Scandinavian strongmen will have some travel advice!

So Kevin Martin (not the one who used to post here. The other one.) is apparently set on auctioning off a large portion of the wireless spectrum to whomever can provide nationwide wireless broadband—free of charges and free or porn. Which, to me, is where it gets really interesting. I’m a freedom of speech nut and, in my mind, porn falls squarely under “speech.” But I also believe free internet access to all Americans is, perhaps, equally important.

So which is more important? Absolute, no-exceptions free speech that cuts off our figurative noses to spite our information-craved faces? Or free data nationwide that sets a dangerous precedent? And for any free-marketeers out there, are we at a point where we can consider internet access a utility like electric and water? Or does the U.S. Government have no business pushing free internet?

Has anyone had this done? How did you find your doctor? What are your results?

I took a nice 4-night 3-day beach vacation this past weekend at some friends’ bungalow in Belmar. Sunday night, my buddy Brian and I goofed around enough to create a few killer tracks (or at least the beer said it was killer). We took turns playing either a push organ or a snare/maracas setup, while we both made up sounds and harmonies.

As usual, we were upset to not have anything to record with. Is a 4-tracker recorder a good idea? I have an iMac and Garage Band. Should I just use that and get a good microphone?

Does anyone know how to convert a Sony Vegas file into a Flash file?

I think there are free Flash converters online, so any advice as far as how to go about it, and which converter to use will help!

Is it good or bad? I have done a bit of research and it seems there are people who are fanatical about both sides. Nobody seems to convince me 100% though. John is fanatical about one of them for sure.

I’m going to do some online research on my own. But I always like hearing your stupid opinions on things so: does anyone own a portable iPod audio system (dock and speakers, you know)?

Does it charge the iPod when plugged in? How long does a full charge last? Is it a separate volume from the iPod’s volume (so you can save iPod energy)? How loud does it get? What was the cost? Are you happy? Have you heard of better? Anything weird or particular to say about the one you’ve got?

I might get one, I might not, who knows.
