Politics and all that juicy stuff
My boss has asked me to ask you a few questions. Ok, maybe not you specifically, but I thought, why not ask the scrabbled? We are doing an article on what young adults look for in a political campaign. Please feel free to be as blunt and angry as you see fit…it’s better that way.
1) What qualities do you seek in a President
2) Which issue concerns you the most a. Jobs b. Healthcare c. Education
3) Are you currently following the 2012 race?
4) Where specifically do you go for updates regarding the 2012 race? (TV/radio station, internet site, etc)
5) Do you discuss politics with your peers?
Please get the person’s first name, age and city/state of residence to include in the article.

1. It used to be simply intelligence, but now, after almost one full term of Obama, I’d have to add “balls” to the list. Making intelligent decisions is all well and good, but if you haven’t the balls to back up your policies, what good is all that thinking?
2. B. It affects everything else. Healthcare costs prevent companies from hiring and keep teacher salaries low, which keep potentially great teachers away. Fix healthcare, and you fix a lot of other sub-problems as well.
3. Of course. It’s hilarious.
4. NPR and Twitter.
5. Yup.
I should hope you know my name, age, and state, but I don’t know how many others would be willing to volunteer that info on an internet comment.
1. I look for rationality, intelligence, knowledge of the issues, and balls, to second Hutch. Unfortunately rationality seems to be frowned upon in a leader, for some reason.
2. C. We could have all the shitty jobs in the world and it wouldn’t matter, and fantastic healthcare would be less fantastic without well educated doctors. Being one or more steps ahead of everyone else has always been our best advantage.
3. I have no choice, I work at a cable news channel. But I would anyway. And it is hilarious.
4. Other than here at CNBC, I like NPR and the intertubes, mostly Gawker, Freethoughtblogs, Newsvine, and Politico.
5. I do, when I can.
My name is Evan, I’m 28, from central NJ.
