NES or SNES
I have a problem, probably one of the best problems I’ve ever experienced, but a problem none-the-less.
I have the opportunity to receive an NES or SNES for free. The problem is that I can only pick one.
Now, I owned both as a child. I recall liking the SNES a bit more, but that might just be the fact that I can remember that better.
I think my decision might also be based upon the games that are available to take. I don’t know what they are exactly. But I’d love to hear some conditional statements about which one to pick.

I’d almost entirely base my decision on the games. It is easier to come by NES games these days, and they tend to be cheaper, but they also have a much higher chance of not working. Same with the actual NES system itself. I have plenty of cartridges for you to borrow (BORROW!) for either system, of course. Moreso, SNES tends to have the kinds of games you sit and play for hours, whereas NES tends to have the kinds of games you fill a little time with. And if the SNES comes with any squaresoft games, well… you’ve already made your decision.
I am sure you could find cheap games for both, but for the better games (Zelda, Contra) don’t they tend to be harder to find and are more expensive?
There is a place in Clayton on Delsea Dr. called the Movie Man, that has a slew of old games for the the NES and SNES if you are looking to stockpile. I am sure there are a few other places around as well.
I went with the SNES. Both systems’ game choices weren’t all that great, so I went with the one that was more functionally reliable. Despite the selection “Kirby’s Dreamcourse” was available, and that really tipped the scales. I used to play that a lot when I was a kid.
Shmevan, does The Movie Man have N64 games as well?
