It’s a shame that this thing is going to sell no matter what. I was really interested in the blu-ray release when it was a possibility that he would include the original theatrical versions, with that being less and less likely I really find it hard to justify a purchase.

I dont’ get blu-ray. People who have DVDs and insist that they need an even higher quality version need to get some goddam perspective.

Any music over 128 kbps is a waste of time/space.

This from the man who considered buying a PS3 just because of the Blu Ray playing capabilities it has.

I think you’re thinking of someone else.

This. I have a Blu Ray player because my DVD player crapped out and it made sense for the upgrade especially due to the Netflix capability (this was before Apple TV had the capability).

But there’s really such a minimal difference in quality that I would think anyone actually buying new copies of movies they already have on DVD just to have them on Blu Ray were somewhat off their rockers.

That’s pretty much what I was getting at. Or people who buy blu-ray copies of old films that weren’t shot in high def. “WOW, THE FILM GRAIN IS CRYSTAL CLEAR!”
