I find this whole thing odd (especially the name even though I’ve read the explanation of it). Mostly because even when Albini is fond of something musically he’s such a damn caustic curmudgeon about it. But he writes about this stuff with a genuine joy that is just weird and more than a bit unsettling coming from him.

I’ve been reading this, but I guess I forgot to post here! I had a very similar reaction to yours, but I really enjoy it. When someone who is generally so curmudgeonly shows a rare glimpse of the aforementioned genuine joy, it’s nice to read something you know isn’t a put-on.
