NYC 5 Boro 2011 - Time Lapse
I was a total pro and forgot all but one 16gb memory card, so it ends just as we enter Central Park. It was my first time with a camera, apparently. Done with a GoPro HD Hero & handlebar mount.

A little bit, but the stop-and-go really took precedence. We waited 40 minutes at one point on a bridge that funneled down to one lane and were LUCKY because all of the back-up behind us ended up waiting for over 2 hours to get through.
I’m not doing it anymore since there are plenty of other local rides around that are much better/less crowded. Like the PASA’s 4th Annual Bike Fresh Bike Local in September where I’ll probably do the 50 mile route. It’s sponsored by Victory Brewery so there’s a big meal & free beer at the end.
Paris said:I did this in 2010 and had no desire to sign up again. I walked my bike through the one area I looked forward to most (Central Park). Although once I pushed through the Harlem piece, there wasn’t much traffic at all. Sounds like it was even worse this year.
I did it again this year because I actually had someone to ride with this time around and thought that since I was in better shape I’d enjoy it more. Having a
riding partner was fantastic but I think because I was in shape it was almost worse due to me not needing any rest. We did get to ride Central Park though.
Like I said, I’m more than happy to do the more local rides available from now on. I love the ride/tour concept and want to do many more (with my camera & extra memory cards)!
