They have numerous albums, their new one just came out and is getting lots of positive reviews. But yes, they never really broke out. Still better that coldplay.

I like Cake a lot, but yes they never broke out. Their newest album is very plain though. I think they finally ran out of ideas.

I think people really started paying attention to what Cake had to say when they let the whole world know that sheep go to heaven and goats go to hell.

Yeah, I never got the Cake fascination either. Seems like such a boring band to have such rabid fans.

It’s not so much the rabid fans. Even the worst, most lame, boring bands have rabid fans. It’s more people with some degree of musical taste and otherwise fairly respectable standards given them some sort of credibility rather than just “Hey, I don’t mind that The Distance song”.

I would just like to say that I think we all tend to take shit for granted. It is truly amazing in that it transcends class, age, race, etc. I mean, the same entity that inspires my dad to include more fiber in his diet also inspires Ashley Simpson to record albums. It inspires Vin Diesel to make movies, just as it inspires people all over the world to pay money to see them.
