Do the hipsters of portland know that they are being made fun of in this show?
With lines like “it’s a place where young people go to retire!” And " In portland you can put a bird on things and call it art!" I can’t imagine that hipsters don’t know the show is about them.
Although, I think I can see the hipsters of portland, well, making it cool to be made fun of.

This guy Bill and Mags and I are friends with, Aaron, lives in Portland and he’s been talking about it on the other board a bit. Apparently the show is realistic only in that it describes the sort of “edge cases” of Portland; these people exist, but they aren’t the norm.
Apparently Portland is very much aware of the show, though.

Portland is nice. I wouldn’t mind living there. And everything I’ve seen about this show and everything you described seem pretty much universal to hipsters everywhere. They probably just picked Portland because that’s where she’s from.
