washington township in gloucester county has 7 gangs, with 10 members. i’m not quite sure how that adds up, but that’s what the report says!

glassboro, gloucester county: 9 gangs, 30 members

clayton, gloucester county: 5 gangs members not identified

oh, this is the disclaimer of sorts in the report:
In many instances, individual gang populations were unknown or were not specified by the responding agency. For this reason, the number of gangs reported in a particular town may therefore be larger than the number of gang members in that town’s estimated gang population.

I was actually playing around with this data earlier. I made a visualization on manyeyes with their handy NJ map. I just used the number of gang members stat though, not number of gangs.

How can a gang have 2 members? They’d lose in a rumble for sure. weanies.

Camden is my guess for most gangs… and now they have half the police there to care about.

I was wondering this myself. I’m also thinking that maybe it means that there are a total of 2 known gang members living in Keyport, and they each belong to one of two known gangs of greater New Jersey?

There’s no way Red Bank has zero gangs or known gang members. New Jersey is fucking scary.

I’ll bet it’s somewhere in California. There are a ton of gang members all over the place out there, not just South Central LA.

It is totally hard for me to believe that P’burg has more gangs and members than Edison, NJ.
