I watched a couple episodes of Police Squad! last night and marveled at Nielsen’s utterly amazing deadpan. Still fucking hilarious as hell nearly 30 years later.

I also like the movie “Day of the Animals” when he goes nuts, rapes someone, and then immediately begins fighting a giant goddamn grizzly bear.

Seeing Airplane! and Police Squad at such a young age I feel is what gave me such an appreciation for deadpan humor and having it be one of my favorite comedic devices and approaches.
