I am doing private ESL lessons for a guy from Korea and just last night he explained how the military works and when he will finally be exempt from having to participate if a war occurs. Bet he’s glad to be in Philadelphia right now!

Well, look on the bright side at least all that time, money, and cost of human lives we’ve dumped into Afghanistan and Iraq have helped that area and we’ve pretty much got things running smoothly there so we can now focus on this issue.

My somewhat reliable, near Seoul, South Korean source says that folks in South Korea aren’t that nervous right now, maybe because this news is being under-reported there. Or because my pal’s in-laws are too old to fight and their kids are safe in the US.
