Colin Greewood on the release of In Rainbows and how best to release Radiohead's newly finished album.

No way, man, they’ve got your number. They’re just a good band that writes good songs that play to their strengths. They’re at a point where they’re clearly enjoying themselves, but they still put a ton of thought and consideration into everything they release. What more could you ask for?
If it means they get a bit repetitive in their old age, so be it. I could go for another dozen or so In Rainbowses before I’d get tired of that.
My hope for this one is that they go a bit darker — more down the line of the recent krautrock-y single of theirs, These Are My Twisted Words, which reminded me more of the most recent Portishead than it did of In Rainbows. I mean, it’s still obviously Radiohead and, in the grand scheme of things, not that much different from what they’ve been doing. I don’t think it’s really a step forwards, back, or sideways. Mostly I just really like that song and I want more stuff like it. It’s just… fucking… I dunno. Evil.
