The Walking Dead.
I’m calling it now. Based on this trailer alone, I think it’s safe to say that this will be greatest television show of all time.

If you’re concerned about the writing, from what I understand, the premiere episode was the last one with Frank Darabont still running the entire damn thing. So, it will be interesting to see if things get better or worse.
I still like the show. I’m willing to put up with some off acting to get to the, still great, zombie scenes. The heard scene from the premiere episode was great.
My concern at this point is this: Now that I’ve put on my “They Live” glasses with this show and just can’t get past how weak the acting is, that they start adhering more closely to the comics which as John stated earlier start to become less and less about the Zombies and more about the characters/conflict/etc. At this point the only thing keeping me engaged is the zombie action. If it becomes more about the characters and the story, I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep watching just to have to endure these bad actors emoting. Unless they stop focusing some much on Shane/Grimes/etc. since they are definitely the worst actors. Maybe if they start upping the focus on newer characters or the ones who aren’t quite horrible actors.
Yeah, there was some article recently (from Cracked maybe?) that was about plot lines/characters that just flat out disappear from shows never to be heard/seen from again and with no reference or explanation. This was one of them. Some of them (the Sopranos Pine Barren episode) are at least in keeping with the overarching “Life doesn’t always have loose ends tied up so not addressing this is at least somewhat realistic” theme of some shows. But since this is already an unrealistic show, and there are so few characters to begin with, and also since the guy who played Merle was pretty much the only even remotely famous actor on the show, it’s a little more glaring.
Good news – IMDB credits PTV with 6 episodes. Get ready for some flashbacks. Or a zombified PTV. ORRR a zombified PTV in flashbacks.
Don’t worry, AMC fired the writing staff (again) and hired me to write the rest of season 2. In the next episode, Shane goes all Taxi Driver and shoots Rick in the face during his next monologue. He then has his way with Lori and throws her into a zombie filled pit once he’s done. Then a one handed Michael Rooker returns to take over the farm. Stay tuned.
