Evan Better than Slave Driver Hutch

Fixie-Prix

Thinking back, most of the posting on here about cars seems to be driving and new car related, and less about repair and technical understanding. I, for one, have a less than thorough grasp of the workings of a modern car.

That said, Scrabblers seem pretty smart, and (maybe) technically able, and so I think we should look into racing in the 24 Hours of Lemons.

Basically, you spend no more than $500 to buy/build/fix/modify a car that must then run a grand prix. It seems like the kind of thing that even a terrible failure would be an awesome win.

Also, my Dad and I are going to a one day racing school as a Christmas present, so that should help.

Dude, good call on this topic not being covered. I haven’t gotten around to it yet, but I’ve been planning on trading my little 2001 kia rio for a beat up old pick up. I’m doing this for two reasons:

1. The ability to transport big things.
2. Hoping to learn a thing or two about auto maintenance.

Anyway, this 24 hours of lemons thing seems really awesome. Even just to watch. Doesn’t look like there are any local ones, though.

About The Scrabbled

The Scrabbled is a group of people blogging about and linking to all manner of things. Usually we argue and make fun of each other. Everybody knows everybody through somebody so there are no strangers here. Most of us have even met in real life! If you happen to personally know someone here and would like to start arguing with and/or making fun of someone, shoot John an email and ask to sign up. Otherwise, you're just going to have to read in relative silence. Sorry.
