Paris Returns
Okay, I am back but have yet to develop (yes develop) any film, or have the desire to type too much. I will present you with a quick list of my highlights for now.
I also request an update of what I’ve missed. I don’t care whether it’s Scrabbled-related, world-related, or music-related news. As long as those three are covered.
In no particular order:
- Watching a family of 12 elk play around the West Thumb Basin Hot Springs in Yellowstone NP (I was very close to them, probably too close).
- Hiking an unblazed trail up a Colorado mountain that involved some scary rock climbing.
- Driving the California Highway 1 along the beautiful Pacific Coast.
- Swimming in Firehole Canyon in Yellowstone NP.
- Being burned by the wind while driving through Death Valley NP (118 degrees, and signs suggested no A/C, to prevent car overheating)
- Exploring caves in the very weird, purpley landscape of Craters of the Moon NP.
- Eating animal-style french fries at In-N-Out Burger.
- Seeing the stripes and spots of Jupiter through an amateur astronomer’s telescope (not to mention countless nebulae) at Cherry Springs SP.
- Being amazed by the sheer time it took to make the Badlands NP.
- Watching the sunset while driving away from the Grand Canyon NP.
- Playing a magnetic crane game (and watching sepia-toned ladies strip) in the vintage, coin-operated arcade museum at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco.

I have a Portland magazine for you. It’s about the beer business. Thought it might be inspirational. I’ll visit the Hawk sooner than later. Or see you at the beer pong tourney.

- Obama went on the view and accordingly, is deemed “disagracful” by people who dislike Obama, “good idea” by people who like Obama.
- The Onion AV club had the best one yet since Ted Leo
- Thor looks fucking stupid.
