then you haven’t been paying that much attention! yeah, they’ve been talking about it for several weeks. it kinda died down a bit cos they were talking about dan haren, but talks got right back up again this week. it’s pretty much a done deal.

I’m not even a Phillies fan. It will just always boggle my mind how they didn’t do everything in their power to pair him with Halladay. Those two together would be completely unbeatable.

well, they didn’t. last year, happ was untouchable. and now apparently he’s not. cos he’s bye-bye and we got oswalt and we have one of the best 1-2-3s in the mlb and the phils are on an 8-game winning streak and we’re only 2.5 games outta first and things are going our way this year. finally.

no no no hutchypoo. oh i can see how i miswrote. i mean things are finally going our way this year. obviously, they’ve been going our way for a few years now and this year, they haven’t gone our way — awful hitting slumps, no run support for starting pitchers, an awful bullpen, loads of injuries, being so far behind a team that shouldn’t have been in second (and is now in third like they deserve to be. ahem, steve)
i’m talking about this year specifically. obviously some of those above problems still exist but the phils are looking like the team we know they can be the last two weeks.
