It may make you cringe, but Twitter has actually become my single most important source of work-related news and information. Go figure.

I actually think this is a brilliant idea: capturing our weirdly narcissistic, gossipy, communal culture in amber for future generations to study with a weird mix of bemused affection and pity. You can probably learn a few things from the way memes and information spread along a very quick moving system.
Of course, we also have zillions of hours of reality television and archived websites that serve that purpose, too. So I guess it’s really just the equivalent of squatting over a heavily-used latrine.
