treme
anyone catch treme on hbo on sunday night?
i never really watch new tv shows but when i heard treme was coming on, i was immediately intrigued.
i’m very interested in all things new orleans – the culture, the music, the food, the people, the history, and yes, even the hurricane.
the show takes place three months after hurricane katrina and follows a bunch of different people and how they are rebuilding their lives.
david simon and eric overmyer – the two guys form homicide and the wire – created the show. i heard them on npr about two weeks ago. listen to that awesome interview here
anyway, i watched it last nite and love it already. it was pretty much a set up episode, introducing the characters – which include wendell pierce (bunk from the wire) as a struggling trombonist, steve zahn (as a new orleans dj and jazz lover), john goodman (as a college professor with a big mouth about fema and the government) and so many others actors, musicians and real-life new orleans folk.
oh i could go on and on. the first episode is on demand. anyone else watch? anyone else excited for it?
