I saw him live several years back (not with Big Star) and he fuckin’ rocked. Weirdly, an image from that performance was in an obit I read online:

I saw him in 1998 when I was sixteen and had no idea who he was. I only barely rectified that in my possession of a single Big Star record. This is still sad.
