Scotch Egg
So, I was putzing around on Wikipedia a little while ago. I like to pick a random topic and then follow interesting links so that I end up somewhere completely unexpected.
I’m not sure how, but I ended up on a page describing a Scotch Egg. Now, I know we have a Brit or two here, and these things are apparently very common as street food over there, so I was wondering what you guys thought as far as me going out of my way to try to grab one of these.
There is a restauarant in Kearny (not too far out of the way for me) that makes them, pic here. Should I check that place out, try to make some myself, or just avoid them completely?

Please tell me these don’t come out of a vending machine. Is this the equivalent of a burrito at 7/11 (i.e., from the fridge case and then nuked)?

no vending machine. very much like the 7/11 burrito, but never nuked. you need to forget about this “warm scotch egg” idea. cold is excellent & room temp will suffice.
To me the nearest thing to HP over here is, funnily, A1 sauce.
HP has its own place with a typical English breakfast. It works wonders with Black Pudding and mixes well with tinned plum tomatoes and fried bread.
Not good with chips, that is chips not crisps. Although there was an HP flaour crisp released once.
Now I miss all my home foods….bah.
