Lost: LA X, Part Two
I figured I’d split this up. Mainly because I wanted everyone to know that I’d be up to my old postings again. What is with that guitar case?!
Spoilers below:
Ah yes, the guitar case. It reminds of the Oceanic 6 and their return to the island. Sun and Ben made it to the present time. The rest ended up in the 70s. Everyone seemed to need an object. Locke had to be in that suit, remember?
Well, I just saw Jin look at his watch in the last episode. Jack no longer has the body of his dead father. Anyway, this just has me thinking about the constant thing from seasons ago.
I hear the whispers! This temple was where Ben met Smokey, right? I guess Smokey didn’t kill Ben back then because he knew he could use Ben to kill Jacob. I would love to see a Smokey highlight reel (now that we know what its/his deal is).
Damn! Kate took Jack’s pen.
Okay so Juliet knew that “it worked” before she actually died? Or did she have something else to say? And once she died, she knew that it worked?
Hugo, Kate, Jack, Sayid,… what is the rest of that note in the ankh? I bet there are TEN names. THE TEN. LA X. Booyah! So… did Jacob (after centuries of trials) finally find ten people to win his argument with Smokey? And as long as those ten are alive, then Jacob will posthumously win the epic argument? Will the dichotomies finally fucking stop?
I thought that stewardess looked familiar in last episode! Have we seen her before? Why is she suddenly with this temple group? Why hasn’t she gone through what everyone else has?
Why won’t John Hawkes take his fucking thumbs out of his pockets?
The healing properties of the island have returned to the plot. Paralysis, sterility, kid-Ben’s gunshot. Whoops (that hand slice didn’t heal). Something went wrong somewhere in the past. The dirty water doesn’t heal like the clean water does.
That transition from Kate’s escape to the bubbling water has me thinking. Has the water become dirty because that alternate timeline shouldn’t be existing right now?
That stewardess is still offering drinks. Hahaha. Zack and Emma, huh? The kid servants. Let’s remember them for a wacky theory later in the season, shall we?
So the Temple-people are afraid of Smokey, now that Jacob is dead. They don’t seem too surprised that Jacob can die. I mean, they sure had plenty of things prepared (i.e. that rocket).
Did Dead-Sayid just say, “it worked,” too? Does everybody have to die on this island-timeline?
Wow, Jack and Locke made a thoughtful connection. Yet they butted heads in Season One almost immediately.
How long have those Temple-people been living in the Temple? Do they know the Others? They sure dress like the Others.
What is Smokey so disappointed about? The fact that everyone on the island almost cost him his bet?
Remember in the all the past episodes how we, the audience, could never tell who was good or bad at first? I think the jury is still out about Jacob and Smokey. Sure Smokey wears the black shirt, but is he actually trying to help. Jacob mentioned something like, “anything that’s not the ending is just progress”. What ending is he looking for?
Maybe the grand game is like so (after hearing Smokey mention how “miserable” their old lives were):
Jacob thinks, sooner or later, that some group of people (The magical Ten) will do everything it takes to get off the island.
Smokey thinks, no way would any group of people want to leave the island once discovering it.
Comments
“I thought that stewardess looked familiar in last episode! Have we seen her before? Why is she suddenly with this temple group? Why hasn’t she gone through what everyone else has?” – She was the last of the tailies to be captured on the way to meet up with the other survivors back in season 2. And the kids were the ones who lost their parents and were taken first or second night.
Also, remember last episode of season 5 where Ilana and gang came across the cabin? The cabin was surrounded by ash, with a break in the circle which one of the guys pointed out. Now, I am assuming that was the same cabin that Locke saw the dude in the rocking chair say ‘help me’. Could that have been evil Jacob and he was trapped by the ash? Who let him out?
