That sucks. Even though comparatively my understanding is we do have a decent civil unions law so that makes our state not totally unprogressive.

it’s hard to tell people that though. it’s just so heartbreaking because if this passed, corzine would have had 10 days to sign it. and he promised he would have done so. now we have chris christie coming in. there goes the official end of that then.

I propose the official reinstitution of every single abolished discrimination until people cede that gays have as much a right to marry as women have to vote, blacks have to be free, and Italians have to make-ah the love to a spicy meat-ah-ball.

what an awful decision.
I heard one legislator (or whatever he was) say he voted it down to allow ‘the people’ to decide. So I don’t think the issue is dead. However, it has not passed in a single state where it has been up for vote. It’s sickening.

The Scrabbled is a group of people blogging about and linking to all manner of things. Usually we argue and make fun of each other. Everybody knows everybody through somebody so there are no strangers here. Most of us have even met in real life! If you happen to personally know someone here and would like to start arguing with and/or making fun of someone, shoot John an email and ask to sign up. Otherwise, you're just going to have to read in relative silence. Sorry.
