Is anyone into this band? I assume that if you’re not familiar with their full length you at least know their song from Dark Was the Night. Anyway, they recently released a single fromtheir upcoming album and I can’t get it out of my head.

I didn’t like their first album but I do really like the DWTN song.
I know nothing of the aside from the aforementioned DWTN track, which I dug, but not enough to take notice of. Jay, you’ve only cared to mention shit that has, so far, been pretty outstanding, so I’ll definitely have to check this out.

I think, Hutch, that you should try to convince Jay first of getting Xbox Live so that you can play him in Fifa, and so we can all challenge him to Trials HD.

I really would love to contribute to your site, but I am largely incapable of writing music reviews. My reaction to music is almost always emotional or physical as opposed to rational or academic, and because of that I have a really hard time articulating why I like/dislike something.

Dude, for real, don’t sweat it. Just write your opinions on albums. It doesn’t have to be shakespere. Look at my reviews! They’re rambling bits of nonsense. I think it’s more important to have real, identifiable opinions on albums that give people an idea of whether or not the album is something that’ll interest them than it is to write some great prose. Pitchfork we are not.
Besdies, in a few days I’ll have the editor board up and running and people who actually know how to use words and edit things like Christina and Trish will be able to fix anything crappy.
The one past Yeasayer album I tried didn’t leave me with anything memorable. I do enjoy the track on that compilation though. I’ll give this a listen.

I usually play with Arsenal. Look me up…my Gamertag is “The Easternbloc”. I should have FIFA 10 by Christmas, if not, I’ll just buy it on the 26th.

I’ve played FIFA 10 a bunch, actually, just haven’t bought it yet. It’s the best soccer game I’ve ever played. It’s one of those games that actually feels good to play.

Christina, as far as I know the album isn’t out (or leaked) yet, so I don’t have it. The song I mentioned is available for free download at the link though.
