Best of Television: Law & Order
I love it, in all its permutations. I’m pretty happy that at any point in my afternoon I can find an episode of it somewhere on basic cable. It’s almost that PCU Caine-Hackman theory, but way easier to prove.
Anyway, it’s infinitely quotable. I’d like to dedicate a post to some of my favorites.
Huang: Do you gamble, Elliot?
Stabler: Only with birth control.
Stabler: What the hell are you doing here?
Attorney: Your conversational skills are what I like most about you.

i find that very hard to believe.
It’s true, though. I don’t think I’ve ever even stopped on it when flicking channels. I never had any reason to suspect it was any good.
I have a lot of free time at work, and I watch it all the time. Nothing beats Lenny Briscoe (Jerry Orbach).

SVU is definitely my favorite of the 3. Ice-T…Richard Belzer….Meloni….BD Wong. And it tends to be less “Ripped from the headlines!!!!”
Criminal Intent was good for that wackadoo Vincent D’onofrio, and Eric Bogosian but I feel like they kept switching the cast around too much to get a solid groove.

That’s funny; I remember reading IMDB trivia that said D’onofrio signed a seven season contract… has it been that long already? I still feel like they’re the new kids on the block, which is not at all an allusion to a shitty boy band.
I think D’onofrio had some kind of breakdown which is why they did the half season thing with him taking some of the episodes and Chris Noth taking the others.
The best thing about Law and Order is Will Arnett playing air slap bass to the theme song every time he’s a guest on Conan.
