Your morning cup of Hateorade
Seriously? Screw Ayn Rand. I know this conversation’s been hinted at in earlier posts, but Steven Colbert justifies my opinion nicely… after the jump.

And then you have this other article here: Ayn Rand Assholes
Literary fight! Man, lamest fight possible.

That Ayn Rand article is no great shakes… I should have linked the one he did: The Bitch Is Back originally from GQ.
I haven’t read her books. Going Galt sounds retarded, but I haven’t read it. I do like what he has to say about God and religion:

The funniest thing was after Obama took office all the brain trusts all over the internet claiming they were going to “go galt” and be sure to work only enough to make under $250K a year so they didn’t get that $250 taken half in taxes. The first funny thing being most of these keyboard commandos probably weren’t making $250 a year let alone, $250K. The other was the basic lack of understanding of the tax code in that only what was made up and above that would be taxed. So even if they made $250,010 they’d be taxed a grand total of $5 more. Yeah, they’ll show us.
To say nothing of the hysterical aspect of the notion that any of these people had any sort of great talent or wisdom that they were going to be depriving the world of by “going galt”.
Ayn Rand sucks and her philosophy is stupid and irresponsible. That’s my opinion.
I don’t know enough about Mumia Abu Jamal to make a decision. I sort of looked into it when I was 16 or so, about the time I bought his book Death Blossoms, but I’ve since forgotten more than I ever knew about his case, or his guilt or innocence.
And I’ve been on record a while now saying Catcher in the Rye sucks.
