Thanks. We may take you up on that if it turns out we’ll be down there for operations and such which is pretty likely. We appreciate it. It’s always nice to have someone who knows the facilities and areas and can direct accordingly.
And on the plus side, we can add a 3rd hospital in 3 separate states where we’re regulars and the people that work there recognize us.
Thank you. It’s always the peripheral, non-medical stuff that we need direction on when going to new hospitals. Decent places to eat within close proximity, parking, good spots to bang ones head against the wall after talking to doctors, houses of worship for me to walk past and shake my fist angrily in the air…..
Kidding…..mostly. But yes, we’ll always take any and all advice and direction from people in the know since these situations are stressful enough so any inside information we can get always makes a difficult situation that much easier.
There is parking at the Hospital (the Main building and the Wood Center). I think you can get discounted parking. There is a McDonalds and a really nice cafeteria on the 1st floor of the Main Hospital, with decently priced food. There’s also an Au Bon Pain across from the Wood Center building. There is a non-denominational sanctuary on the 1st floor near the cafeteria that’s very soothing and good place to kind of rejuvinate. CHOP is all about Family Centered Care, so I’m sure there are several other resources. I’m sure you’ve already been checking it out, but here is the website for patients: http://www.chop.edu/visitors/index.html
