This is ridiculous, especially his stating that he “treats everyone equally”. But, if there are other justices in the parish, why not just go to one of them? This guy DOES have a right to not marry them, even if his reasoning behind the belief is absurd, correct? What purpose does a discrimination lawsuit serve if they can just go to another person to get married?

If this was a minister or priest he could refuse to marry them, but it is illegal for a justice of the peace to refuse to marry people who meet the legal requirements to be married in a civil service. Yeah they should go somewhere else but this guy should also lose his job.

And I love how he feels that he thinks that people won’t accept the children who are born to an interracial couple. Does he know who our president is?
