Dead Man's Bones

Ryan Gosling, the actor from Lars and the Real Doll and The Notebook, decided he was next in line to be a terrible actor/musician. He even recruited a children’s choir to help him!

And through the first two songs he succeeds, a spoken word intro and then some garbled mess open the record. Then “In the Room Where you Sleep” comes in and it’s just so damn goofy that it’s likable.

The pitchfork review is actually pretty spot on.

Tracks to check out:

  • In The Room Where You Sleep
  • Pa Pa Power
  • Lose your Soul

At Pitchfork, you can sign up for the LaLa player (free) and listen to the entire album.

That dude was awesome in The Believer and he should have taken that opportunity to start an Oi band.

About The Scrabbled

The Scrabbled is a group of people blogging about and linking to all manner of things. Usually we argue and make fun of each other. Everybody knows everybody through somebody so there are no strangers here. Most of us have even met in real life! If you happen to personally know someone here and would like to start arguing with and/or making fun of someone, shoot John an email and ask to sign up. Otherwise, you're just going to have to read in relative silence. Sorry.
