Scrabbled Comp #3: Are You Having Fun?

I’m still finding a few songs. Great turnout, though. I closed up with something a little weird, since my number one choice was mentioned by Travis (and technically Christina); I blame Hutch for reminding me about video game music.

Scrabbled Comp #2: Outta This World

Best submission, in my opinion, is Mandy’s “Laika” for mere reference power. I haven’t even heard the song yet. I wish I thought of it first for Arcade Fire’s “Neighborhood #2 (Laika)”.

  1. Apples In Stereo “7 Stars” (Paris)
  2. Cursive "Mothership, Mothership Do You Read Me? (Ryan)
  3. The Advantage “Solar Jetman” (John)
  4. Flock Of Seagulls “Space Age Love Song” (Kevin)
  5. David Bowie “Moonage Daydream” (Casie)
  6. NOFX “Pods And Gods” (Bill)
  7. Spacehog “Starside” (Jeff)
  8. Hum “Stars” (Jay)
  9. The Beatles “Across The Universe” (Evan)
  10. Meshuggah "Nebulous” (Christina)
  11. Spiritualized “Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space” (Travis)
  12. Moxy Fruvoux “Laika” (Mandy)
  13. The Notwist “On Planet Off” (Matthew)
  14. St. Vincent “All My Stars Aligned” (Julia)
  15. Ash “Girl From Mars” (Maggie)
  16. Hideki Tobeta “Katamari Stars” (Paris)

Bolded songs are coming soon.

And without further ado, this week’s compilation theme:
Song titles that are in the form of a question!!!

My opening track selection is “Did You See The Words?” by Animal Collective.

You Will. You? Will. You? Will. You? Will.- Bright Eyes
Whatever Happened To Pong?- Frank Black
If You’re A Wizard Then Why Do You Wear Glasses?- Liars

My #1 would be the Animal Collective song.

My apologies if I repeated anyone’s previous suggestions.

the pixies “where is my mind?” or buzzcocks “ever fallen in love?” i can’t decide, but i will try.

i choose the Pixies if it can be the LAST song (because it’s perfect for last songs). otherwise, i choose Buzzcocks.

Well, Mandy, you can go with the Buzzcocks song, and I’ll close with the Pixies track (that was my plan to begin with).

“Does This Mean You’re Moving On?” by Airborne Toxic Event.
I also vote for the Bright Eyes one Trav mentioned because it’s a whole lot of questions. But I am not a Bright Eyes fan.
My #1 vote is “Are You a Hypnotist?” by Flaming Lips

Mandy, this Moxy Fruvous song is hilarious. They’re one of those bands I’ve known about for years and years due to XPN’s love of them, but this is the first time I think I’ve ever actually heard them. Great stuff.

i’m really pleasantly surprised you liked it. they might very well be my favourite live band (who incidentally, also regularly covered Talking Heads & Tom Waits). if you are interested in hearing more, i can upload stuff.

Bargainville was what got me into them and Live Noise gives you a decent idea of their stage show.
