AWESOME. i love that he already won a Kitchen Stadium Battle, too. the first season of this show was fanfuckingtastic.
I don’t have as high expectations as the last one, Mandy. I knew all those chef’s. Maybe Luke knows these guys and can enlighten us, but I’ve only heard of Garces.

i had zero expectations and doubt i knew any of them last season. i always like someone who beats bobby flay, though.
i’m kind of disappointed with the quality of chefs this time around. the first season was so much stronger.
anyway, i would say garces is probably a big favorite along with nate appleman. appleman has an italian background and could be a batali replacement if he never returns?
robert trevino is a big name in puerto rico. holly smith was big in the pacific northwest food scene and also has an italian background. i might be rooting for her. brad farmerie (i think) has a michelin star. seamus mullen is another spanish chef pretty hot in ny right now.
the others i know nothing about.

it looked like he was just harvesting the yolk from them – didn’t look entirely rocket sciencey, so maybe i’m missing something.
