Pitchfork Predictions
So that music site that no one talks about is doing a list for the aughts (2000-2009) of the top 200 albums.
Tomorrow they list the top 20. I thought we’d have a little predicting fun tonight. Actually, I could probably name everything Pitchfork will select. These are more selections that I would like to see.
So I think we’ll see:
Arcade Fire The Funeral
Sufjan Stevens Come On Feel The Illinoise
Daft Punk Discovery
Beirut Gulag Orchestra
The Strokes Is This It
Animal Collective Merriweather Post Pavilion
Death Cab For Cutie The Photo Album
Wilco "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot??
If I didn’t mention an album you’d expect me to mention, it’s because it was probably already listed by Pfork (for instance Animal Collective Feels and Sung Tongs, Battles Mirrored)
On a side note, I uploaded the Where The Wild Things Are soundtrack. It matches those pleasant and sentimental feelings you get from the trailer well. Karen O does the vocals, all original tracks.
Fucking “Worried Shoes” is making me tingly and regretful.

This drives me fucking insane. It’d be one thing if it was good hip hop. It’s out there. Dudes like Dalek, Oddateee, and Busdriver keep blazing new paths in hip hop and dudes like Mos Def and Q-Tip keep summing it all up for us. But it’s never those guys. It’s always fucking Little Wayne or that god-awful new Raekwon disc.
While I loathe Little Wayne, Im not terribly offended by what Pitchfork’s done in the top 20 as far as hip-hop goes. Love him or hate him, Kanye’s first few albums shifted hip-hop production as a whole and Supreme Clientele is an awesome album.
Why on earth Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Blackstar isn’t in the 10 ten though is beyond me, that album is fucking amazing.
