R.I.P Little Houdini
…Or “lil” for short. I found her 3 months ago under a tree in the park. I took her in thinking she was one of my neighbors dogs, But she quickly became one of the gang and made herself at home in my lap. She died this morning after getting so tangle up in Irie’s leash that she strangled herself.
I had the dogs tied up under some trees like I normally do when going for a swim at the beach. I was swimming for quite a while when I all the sudden got a really bad feeling. People say when this feeling comes over you, you should follow it…think with your gut, not with your mind. So I started swimming to shore. Steve came running up screaming my name. “Lil is dead, she strangled herself” he said.
….My gut knows all
She wasn’t a part of my life for very long. I was just getting to know her. But her are some things I am truly going to miss.
- Her odd gremlin like ways, like how she sleeps under the bed and randomly squeezes her head between the wall and bed frame just to say hello.
- her ability to make weird noises
-She was incredibly warm and snugly
- sometimes I’d open up my bedroom door not knowing she was behind me, and she’d sneak out before I could turn around. Then she’d sit in the hallway, and give me a look says “yeah. WHATCHA THINK OF ME NOW?!”
- She always kept the party going. Greeting new comers, playing with my room mates, and attempting to steal beer cans and food scraps.
- Her stinky breath
…oh man….I miss the little goober already.
