pavement tix on sale tomorrow
wow. kinda can’t believe this is true.
pavement played their last show in philly at the troc. i was there a week before the show to see fountains of wayne and went to buy pavement tickets. they had sold out minutes before. a few months later, the band broke up. that was 1999 and i was 16. this is huge.

I still can’t believe they’re putting tickets on sale almost a year in advance. I’m curious if anyone has ever heard of that happening before. Even for massive concerts and events. I wonder which one of them really needs the cash.

Kev, I’m not sure there is anyone in this WORLD that is as cynical as you are, but I love every second of it. I’m pretty cynical myself usually but you’re on an entirely different level.

yeah me too. like i said, i missed their show by THREE days in 1999 cos i just forgot to buy tickets. then the goddamn band broke up. 10 years of kicking myself. i’ll pay $50 to see them on the summerstage – which is fun as hell anyway.
I love Pavement, but holy shit would i get bored at that show. They’re the band that were so boring live it inspired The Dismemberment Plan to write a song about it (“Doing the Standing Still”).

i bought tickets to the second show.
and it wasn’t that expensive, the tickets were 38.50, it’s just that ticketmaster sucks and added a 9.85 fee on each.
also, john, the dismemberment plan was my favorite band to see live and all, but i went to see pavement on the terror twilight tour and had an AWESOME time. and that was right when they were all hating each other. so whatever. mark ibold smiles a lot and bob is a wacko, so it’s cool.

Just got tickets to the third show. $102 bucks to see one of my favorite bands? It’s a NO BRAINER.
oh good! another band is getting back together. thats great. never would have seen that coming.
oh, and i see it costs about 4 times as much as it did the last time i saw them. fantastic.
