The first 500 or so, who cares, but the top 20… it’s actually a pretty decent list.

I’d swap the Outkast songs though. Hey Ya should definitely be rated higher than BOB
with the exception of “my girls” i could care less about every song in that top 20.

I thought the same thing (though both definitely belong in the top 20).
Ooo yea I’ve been following this, but missed the top 50. Can’t wait to read ’em.

I don’t know that Daft Punk song at #23 or that LCD Soundsystem track at #22.
I have never listened to The Walkmen or Hercules and Love Affair.
I don’t know that other LCD Soundsystem song mentioned either. Ah… but I do know that one at #2.
I also don’t see (do you wanna date my) avatar on this list. that’s a big mistake.

Most of that list is terrible, but pitchfork is pretty terrible to start with so I don’t know what I was expecting.
That list is maybe, half good. I just really hate when they fluctuate so wildly between fairly obscure, totally out of left field stuff and then ridiculously mainstream stuff like the Beyonce and R. Kelly tracks. I mean at least stuff like Gnarls Barkley and Outkast straddled that popular/yet semi edgy line in the songs themselves so they aren’t that bad as far as choices. But really I’m sorry there are just no objective or reasonable standards by which The Knife and Beyonce can be within 20 spots of each other, even if I actually happen to like both songs and artists.
“heartbeat” by annie should be nowhere NEAR the top 20. however, “heartbeats” by the knife is nicely put.
i think kelly clarkson’s “since u been gone” should be better ranking.
