Another great article about crabbing from the same author:

My grandfather used to let me plunk his crab traps down in the East River. I pulled up horrifying things, but no crabs. He took me fishing very often, in a lot of places that didn’t seem like they would quite sustain life.

I liked getting to hang out with him, though.

My best friend and I used to go crabbing in LBI with her dad. I remember catching a bunch of pregnant crabs and seeing them carrying their eggs, which was a pretty cool life lesson.

Also…just found this. WHOAAAAAAAa.

I’m not sure why you’re looking forward to something so god-damn boring.

Alright, Matt, you and I can drink a bunch of mountain dew and write razor scooters and go EXXXXTREME crabbing.

Have you ever gone crabbing before? I understand wanting to eat crabs, but you don’t have to retire to do that.

Of course, I used to go all the time when I was a kid. My Pop Pop sold his boat, though. I miss it.

Ah! It’s nostalgia that clouds your mind. Once you realize it’s just sitting down and doing absolutely nothing you’ll move on to something else.

You have no idea how much I enjoy sitting down and doing nothing.

I’m calling bullshit here. I do this SO much more than you do. In fact I try to get you to do it more often, but you’re always “I have this freelance client,” or “I love my wife,” or “I’m trying to buy a house.”

Clearly you and I have different opinions of indolence.

Seriously, I don’t think it’s an insult or a bad thing to say this at all but when I think of someone who epitomizes the ability to just relax and do nothing, you (John, not Sammy) are absolutely the last person probably in the entire world that I would think of. Maybe the second to last, with the last being myself.

Just cause I don’t do it often doesn’t mean I’m incapable or don’t like it. It’s why I love camping. Ask Kev and Mandy how well I am and sitting and doing very little.

Remember that time I gave you a season of television on DVD to watch? I think that was a month or two before you got married, right? How’s that going for you? You fit it into your crazy schedule of unadulterated relaxation?

I hate tease you because I love you.

Watching TV isn’t what I had in mind.

About The Scrabbled

The Scrabbled is a group of people blogging about and linking to all manner of things. Usually we argue and make fun of each other. Everybody knows everybody through somebody so there are no strangers here. Most of us have even met in real life! If you happen to personally know someone here and would like to start arguing with and/or making fun of someone, shoot John an email and ask to sign up. Otherwise, you're just going to have to read in relative silence. Sorry.
