Yeah, he’s only the 2008 cy young winner. His record isn’t great this year, but his era is around 3 he just needs some run support. And, I’m pretty sure he’s under contract for this year and next.
Dodgers don’t scare me as much as the Cardinals do. Yes, we beat the Cards 2 of 3 but we did not face Wainwright or Carpenter (and they did not face Hamels). Heck, The Cubs are now in first place in the Central, so who knows with them. I have a feeling the Dodgers young arms will fall off by September and the Phillies will be fine, despite a lefty-dominated rotation (could be troule, esp when facing very good righthanded hitters)
Here’s my prediction:
Halladay will now go to the Red Sox for Bucholtz and some other prospects, and they will beat the Phillies in the World Series.
It’s still a good deal.
…or the phillies destroy everyone by trading Brown, Happ and Drabeck for Halladay. Imagine that playoff rotation Hamels, Halliday, Lee.
Yeah, facing a Red Sox rotation of Beckett, Halladay and Lester scares me. But they still have to beat the Yankees.

The guys on 610 WIP summed it up pretty well, “if that happened we might as well all go to the city now and stake out spots along the parade route.”
